Allan Gilmour

Mark Sinclair (Allan Gilmour) was born in Nottingham, England, in 1967. In 1987 he sought new horizons and left England’s green and pleasant land for a life in the Black Forest of South Germany. He possesses a German Masters degree in Hairdressing, is self-employed and is a lecturer in Hairdressing and Business Studies. When not playing about with his keyboards, tinkering with his flight simulator, cataloguing old German philately or sifting through his collection of old vinyl recordings, he loves to jog through the rolling-hills of the Black Forest which creatively inspires him for future projects.
In 2012 he published his first book, a non-fiction work titled "Nice place, shame about the human race".

Mr Midnight and Sir Winston are very much aware of how much the human race loves cats. They also feel that, just like cats themselves, humans are also rather vain but inquisitive creatures who love adventure, exploration and self-discovery. These cats have a message to send the world. Their wisdom knows no bounds. They’ve been watching us for a while, observing our ways and evaluating our lives. They don’t always like what they see, but they’re quick to offer friendly advice.

The messages of their short vignettes are enriching, enlightening, challenging and life affirming in equal measure. They deal with facing fears, embracing diversity, finding your own truths, getting back in touch with yourself and taking control of your destiny. Ultimately, the most important message they bring is one of love and hope.

An inspirational journey down the fascinating path of life, A Helping Paw is a series of interconnected short stories which take the reader on an entertaining, often humorous journey through modern life as observed through the eyes of two cats and an Englishman.
