Susannah Fried-Preiss

This collection of poems does not easily fit any standard poetic category. These poems are written in what one might call a free association style. They have a contemplative, even melancholic character with a pessimistic undertone emanating from a deeply felt confrontation with life lived between East and West, with life's many challenges and absurdities, disappointments but also moments of beauty. Throughout her life the author has been a sensitive observer of the course of events spanning the last fifty years and her poems are, in effect a very personal chronicle of one individual facing the dilemmas of a fast changing world.
