“Corinna Schroeder-von Frihling’s third book of her series “SKETCHES by Walter Schroeder”, “SKETCHES from sessions at McGANN’S Doolin 1998-2003” , shares more captivating sketches by Walter Schroeder from sessions at McGann’s in Doolin County Clare, Ireland.

Corinna Schroeder-von Frihling had the idea of making a book with Walter Schroeder’s sketches when she was browsing through his sketch books. She noticed that some of the sketches were already changing colour or fading and the pages were getting loose. She wanted to save this part of his work, and because there were so many sketches, she decided to focus on the four pubs where Walter Schroeder loved to sketch people, especially musicians, enjoying a pint of Guinness and a Jameson at the same time: O’Connor’s, McDermott’s and McGann’s in Doolin and The Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna. She made one book for each pub, with this book focusing on the sketches drawn in McGann’s in Doolin.

The book “SKETCHES from sessions at McGANN’S Doolin 1998-2003” by Corinna Schroeder-von Frihling goes down memory lane and is the third one of a series of four. It does not only contain many sketches from sessions at McGann’s in Doolin, but also some photographs and a short historical background of the pub, some words from one of the featured musicians and a short biography of Walter Schroeder.
