The Unity of EverythingThe Unity of Everything – Inspiring dialogue between Buddhism and science

Nish Dubashia lets readers of “The Unity of Everything” take part in a fascinating discussion about the connect and disconnect between science and religion.

What happens when a Buddhist mystic meets one of the world’s greatest living scientists to discuss the structure of reality and its relation to the process of spiritual enlightenment?

In January 1991, a thought-provoking meeting took place. Nish Dubashia, the author of this book, then a young student of Buddhist meditation and mysticism, received an invitation to join Professor David Bohm, one of the greatest theoretical physicists of the twentieth century, in Birkbeck College in London. The professor wanted to discuss Dubashia’s thesis that a rather simple process of emergence and dissolution underlies reality, and that what physics is now also discovering is the same essential truth that underlies many of the surface differences between the great religious and mystical traditions of the world.

“The Unity of Everything” now reveals what happened when a Buddhist mystic met one of the world’s greatest living scientists to discuss the structure of reality and its relation to the process of spiritual enlightenment.
