How to publish your book

Start the publishing process and continue as follows:

Select a design

Select from one of our many cover designs and adapt it to your individual style.

Create a cover online

Adapt the colors, fonts, and other elements of the cover. If you wish, you can insert your own picture.

Create your own cover

Of course, you can also use your own personally designed cover. You can find information
on the dimensions in step one of the publishing process.

Receive your ISBN and upload your book

Obtain your personal ISBN here, and then simply upload your book.

You can upload your manuscript in PDF, Word or ePub Format. Try our automated typesetting!

Determine the price and royalty

You determine the selling price of your book. The amount of your royalty is indicated instantly.

Submitting your book online

1. Design your cover

The choice is yours: You can select from one of our many templates to design your cover online or alternatively, you can use a cover designed by you.

Our cover design tool can be used intuitively and it takes just a few clicks to create an individual cover for your book. The available templates were developed in line with the various genres of literature and are easily and individually adaptable. Our cover design tool is unrivaled as you only have to create your design once. Our technology will then automatically generate the covers for Paperback, Hardcover and eBook.

If you have already designed the front of your cover but not yet the back or the spine, the design tool is there to help you. Simply upload your front cover and select a design for the back. The tool will then automatically generate the correct dimensions of the entire cover.

Authors who prefer to design their own cover can calculate the dimensions in the first step of the publishing process. The barcode for the back of the book is also available for download.

2. Upload the content of your book

We assign one ISBN to each of the different formats of your book. For designing the interior of your book, you can use one of our many text layout templates or create one yourself. You will need to upload the interior of your book just once for all three formats (Paperback, Hardcover, eBook). If you wish to specify the ISBNs in your imprint, please embed all three numbers.

3. Three books in one Step

With our unique technology, you can publish your book as a Paperback, Hardcover and eBook edition together, without having to complete the publishing process three times. There is no obligation and you are free to decide whether you wish to publish all three formats with tredition or not. You can publish other formats at a later time at no extra cost.

Our authors, retailers and readers are important to us and therefore, books published with tredition are done so to the highest standard. Our proofreading team thoroughly checks each piece of work submitted at random scope for correct spelling and grammar, critical contents, cover appearance and typesetting of the interior. If required, our proofreaders will provide you with valuable tips for improvement and correction.

Local and worldwide distribution

After publication, your book can be bought in almost every physical bookstore and online bookshop as a Paperback, Hardcover and eBook. These stores include e.g. Barnes & Noble and Powell’s in addition to Amazon. To achieve this, we ensure that all bookstores are able to order all our titles from the major wholesalers Ingram, Baker& Taylor and Gardners. Amazon usually has them on stock and will ship them directly.

Your book will be available to readers approximately three days after publication. It may take slightly longer for the eBook while we convert your book into a valid eBook (ePUB and mobi). Monthly settlement of royalties

The number of books sold by retailers and our bookshop will be updated in your commission account every day, keeping you fully updated. Once a month, you will receive a royalty statement as soon as the commission exceeds USD 25 (in the US) or GBP 25 (in UK). For more information please read §5.2 in the book contract.
